We're about 440 ft above sea level, whereas the Woodley Island station is probably 10 or 20 ft ASL. I've been told that makes a difference, but things might have changed (my high school meteorology class was 50 years ago).
My rain gauge originally was a jar of dried chipped beef, but now it has been recycled into a calibrated rain gauge (0 to 3 inch capability).

Belay that, it should read:

Did you measure that? That's drastically different than the Eureka number. Could it differ that much? It's possible.

I'm at about 50 feet, give or take. My measurements began Feb. 26. In that short period of time, I've measured .24 inches more than Woodley Island.
Of course on Friday some of that rain in the gauge was probably snow. But I guess that still counts.
