Into The Fog
I've been busy lately planning a wedding, a three-week trip to Italy, Sicily and Malta, and figuring out how to get the paper out while I'm gone. But this morning I squeezed in a short bike ride.
The fog was thick and I had to stop often to wipe off my glasses. This is on Vance under the Samoa Bridge.
Samoa is a neat, old mill town. Most of us pass by this place without stopping to appreciate it.
Being that I live in a tsunami hazard zone, I like to check out my options in case of an emergency. The big dune in Samoa doesn't look any taller than the ones behind us in nearby Manila. So when The Big One hits, I think we should run out the back door and up the dunes behind the house.
After exploring Samoa, I decided to go over the bridges to Woodley Island.
Here's the view from the top of first bridge. Out there in the fog live the ghosts of lost fishermen, pirates and mutineers.
At Woodley Island, I watched the "Good News" return to port.
I said hello to the old fisherman.
I went through the tunnel.
I admired the mud flats at low tide before returning home.
