Capdiamont, The Readers' Digest version of the Hammond Bridge story is that it's rusting away and may eventually need to be replaced. Personally, I think if they do nothing the bridge will last for at least 50 more years. So when I'm 90, I'll get concerned.
Gordon, Several years ago someone stole one of my newspaper racks. About a year or so later, I found it in the water under the bridge. The bad news is that the rack was destroyed. The good news is that the hooligans were unable to break it open and get the quarters.

These are beautiful. You have an especially nice knack with landscapes!
What was the deal with the bridge in your paper?
Does that bridge tilt up if you need to dump some chips?

I've always been opposed to the death penalty but I might reconsider my position for a newspaper rack thief.
Gordon,
That's how I feel. When it comes to the theft of newspaper racks and bicycles, the punishment should be swift and extreme. Hang em high!
